The Humboldt and District Hospital Foundation (HDHF) announced some new technology soon coming to Humboldt and District Hospital Complex.
During the recent hospital foundation AGM on June 27, foundation executive director Lorrie Bunko announced the plans to purchase a Pyxis MedStation for the complex.
The technology will, “aid in accurately dispensing medication, while supporting pharmacy workflows. The system will benefit patients and staff in Pharmacy, Inpatients and Emergency,” said Bunko in a recent HDHF press release.
During the AGM, Bunko said the system will save nurse time in dispensing medication through patient barcode scanning as well as cuts back on substance inventory by up to five hours a week. According to Pyxis, nurses will have “access to comprehensive medication and patient information in one place.”
