Impaired driving charges laid

Battlefords RCMP responded to more than 20 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Friday, April 18 and 6 a.m. Saturday, April 19. Friday 1:58 p.m. - Call of a woman walking on the Northbound bridge on Highway 4.

Battlefords RCMP responded to more than 20 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Friday, April 18 and 6 a.m. Saturday, April 19.

Friday

1:58 p.m. - Call of a woman walking on the Northbound bridge on Highway 4. Police attended and removed her from the bridge for her own safety.

1:47 p.m. - Complaint of an intoxicated womandisturbing customers at the mall. A53-year-old woman was arrested for drunk in public, lodged in cells and released when sober. She has been charged for being drunk in public.

7:45 p.m. - Report of a very intoxicated man walking on Trudeau Street. Police attended. The intoxicated man was gone.

8:45 p.m. - Police stopped a vehicle on 110th Street. A 33-year-old woman wasfound to be a disqualified driver. She was arrested and released. Vehicle was towed. Charged for driving while disqualified. Court date scheduled for June 2.

10:45 p.m. - Police stopped a vehicle on Battleford Road. The driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle anddrive while disqualified.The driveralso had outstanding arrest warrants from Meadow Lake. The 26-year-old man was remanded into custody and will be brought to court Monday, April 21 to deal with his charges.
