Incident at Macklin School

School operations are back to normal at Macklin School after an incident involving an adult male who entered the school after classes were done for the day. Around 4:25 P.M. on Feb.

School operations are back to normal at Macklin School after an incident involving an adult male who entered the school after classes were done for the day.

Around 4:25 P.M. on Feb. 1, Unity RCMP received a 9-1-1 call about an adult male that in the Macklin school acting erraticall, and refusing to leave. They responded along with Kerrobert and Cut Knife RCMP members, Battlefords Traffic Services, and Luseland Police Service.

A 32 year-old male was eventually arrested without incident at around 5:30 P.M. in a garage of a neighbouring residence. No students were in the school at the time of the incident, and no teachers or staff were injured.  
 
The man, from Forestburg Alberta, was due to appear in North Battleford court Thursday morning, Feb. 2, on charges of: mischief by interfering with the operations of the Macklin School, mischief to Property for damages to a RCMP vehicle, break and enter to a building, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a controlled substance (meth) and breach of undertaking given to a peace officer.
