TISDALE — A Tisdale farm equipment dealer has been sold to a larger chain.

As of July 3, John Bob Farm Equipment, a New Holland dealer that has locations in Tisdale and Outlook, is now part of the Rocky Mountain Equipment Group.

“We felt that by joining Rocky Mountain Equipment Group that it would provide better service for customers and faster, better agricultural product and services for our customers,” said Ian Bromm, the Tisdale branch manager.

That’s possible because Rocky Mountain Equipment has more resources available to it. The chain has 36 locations across Western Canada, including Preeceville, Yorkton and Kindersley.

“There’s more product available for them to sell and choose from and it just provides a good strong group to work with,” Bromm said.

The branch manager said he’s expecting that there won’t be too many changes, that it will be business as usual.

Bromm is remaining at the location, while founder John McShannock is retiring and former general manager Greg McShannock has moved on to a different job.

“We look forward to working with our customers under the new brand,” Bromm said.
