A delegation consisting of Kjelti Anderson and Ashley Johnson appear to inform council about events organized by the local galleries including the Allen Sapp Healing Garden and Common Ground Collective. Among the activities is a launch of a new arts and culture 'zine called Feed the Artist.

Local resident Connie Jamieson expressed concerns about the amount of trees and fences obstructing some intersections in the city. Several pictures were circulated at the meeting of trees and shrubs spilling over onto intersections and blocking sidewalks. Fire chief Pat MacIsaac and special constables plan to report back on bylaw enforcement progress in that area at the next council meeting.

City municipal services committee meetings have been cancelled for July and August. Items that would have been on the agenda will be dealt with during regular city council meetings in those months.

Council voted to approve rubber flooring installation over the existing tiles in the Lower Auditorium of the Civic Centre at a cost of $61,093.

Rental rates at the Don Ross Centre will be adjusted July 1 and every year after to achieve a minimum cost recovery of 50 per cent.

The tender to supply two four-wheel half-ton trucks (NBFES units) was awarded to Scott Campbell Dodge for $78,675.87.

Finally, the following organizations will receive funding under the Community Development Financial Assistance program:

Battlefords Boys and Girls Club ($13,000); Empty Stocking Fund ($5,000); Battle River Archers ($700); Catholic Family Services ($2,500); Girl Guides of Canada ($1,000); and NB Golf and Country Club ($1,000).
