Kids throwing rocks, gunshots reported

Between 6 a.m. Aug. 14 and 6 a.m. Aug. 15, Battlefords RCMP responded to about 47 calls for service, including:

Aug. 14

• 6:25 a.m. - a North Battleford 22-year-old man with cuts was taken to Battlefords Union Hospital for a mental health assessment.

• 8:03 a.m. - report of an assault on the Saulteaux First Nation of male trying to kick in a door to assault his spouse. SUI

• 9:48 a.m. - complainant called with concerns about a child as screaming was heard. SUI

• 1:15 p.m. - A male youth was reported to have breached his undertaking. The youth was located and arrested and set to appear in court the morning of Aug. 15.

• 2:50 p.m. - A report on Mosquito First Nation of an assault was taken but was unfounded as the complainant was needing a ride to North Battleford.

• 4:03 p.m. - report of a vehicle rear ending a semi trailer on Highway 16, no injuries. SUI

• 4:21 p.m - Report of people with open liquor at the main beach in Cochin.

• 4:26 pm. - Report of theft from Walmart, one male and one female suspect putting many items in trunk of vehicle. SUI 

• 5:32 p.m. - Complainant reports hearing three or four gunshots in North Battleford, patrols were made, no other similar calls were received.

• 7:47 p.m. - Complaint of a dangerous driver on the Moosomin First Nation. Vehicle not located.

• 7:53 p.m. - Complaint of a theft from a motor vehicle in North Battleford. SUI

• 11:35 p.m. - Report property damage at the North West Regional College. Kids throwing rocks at windows. SUI

• 11:48 p.m. - An adult male charged with public mischief as a result of child custody dispute on the Saulteaux First Nation. 

Aug. 15

• 12:02 a.m. - Suspicious person reported on the 1600 block of 99th Street in North Battleford.

• 12:28 a.m. - Suspicious person reported on 1700 block of 100th Street in North Battleford

• 1:36 a.m. - Attempted break and enter reported at Maymont Beach. SUI

• 3:01 and 4:18 a.m. -Suspicious persons reported on the 1600 block of 97th Street in North Battleford.

Members also responded to 10 assistance calls, two calls of found items, three traffic/by-law calls, three mischief/property damage calls, five intoxicated person calls, two impaired driving complaints from Moosomin First Nation and North Battleford.
