Jason Krysta is facing weapons and assault charges in Saskatchewan and Central Alberta.

LLOYDMINSTER – A Lloydminster man arrested in Red Deer, Alta., on drug, weapons and assault charges earlier this year is facing similar charges in Lloydminster, Sask.

In Saskatchewan, 31-year-old Jason Krysta had a court appearance Thursday on charges dating from 2021 including assault, break and enter with intent, two counts of robbery, two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and failure to comply with a release order.

In Alberta, Krysta, along with 43-year-old Shane Donnally, and 30-year-old Corey Morris, all of Lloydminster, were arrested in January.

According to Red Deer RCMP, at about 2:45 a.m. on Jan. 11, 2022, they responded to a report of a man assaulted at a home in the Highland Green neighbourhood. When they arrived, the victim gave them a description of three men and their vehicle.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police located the vehicle, and arrested Krysta, Donnally, and Morris. The three were charged with robbery with a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a firearm in a vehicle, unauthorized possession of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a firearm contrary to an order, disobeying a court order, and failing to comply with conditions.

The charges against Krysta haven't been proven in court.
