Lac La Ronge man charged with weapons, drug offences remains in custody

LA RONGE - A Lac La Ronge man facing weapons and drug related charges hasn’t been granted bail after appearing in La Ronge Provincial Court.

Floyd Ratt, 33, was remanded in custody and appears next in court on Sept. 20. Ratt’s co-accused 28-year-old Mary Johnson was released and also appears again on Sept. 20.

Ratt and Johnson were arrested Aug. 5 after La Ronge RCMP and La Ronge RCMP General Investigation Section executed a search warrant at a trap line on Molanosa Road south of La Ronge.

Police searched a camper onsite and seized three firearms, ammunition, 30 grams of cocaine and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Ratt was charged with 22 firearms related offences, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property less than $5,000 obtained by crime, and four counts of failing to comply with release order.

Johnson was charged with 12 weapons related offences, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property under than $5,000 obtained by crime, and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
