The man charged in the latest murder to hit the Battlefords was back in court Thursday morning.
Keenan Mooswa is charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of Sequin Mooswa of North Battleford. He had made his first appearance on Tuesday; on Thursday he appeared briefly before Judge Kim Young by closed circuit TV and his matters have been adjourned to April 8 at 11 a.m., again by CCTV.
Family members of Mooswa were in court for the latest appearance. Mooswa is currently in custody at Saskatoon Correctional Centre.
Police officers from North Battleford RCMP responded to a request to check in on the well-being of a 22-year old female on March 8. They attended a residence on the 1900 block of St. Laurent Drive where the individual was found deceased.
RCMP Major Crimes North, RCMP Forensic Identification Section, Saskatchewan Coroners Service and the RCMP National Forensic Identification Support Services from Edmonton are assisting with the investigation.
