Branch 70 is again live-streaming its Remembrance Day ceremonies from the Legion.

NORTH BATTLEFORD - For the second year in a row, the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in public Remembrance Day gatherings being cancelled in the Battlefords.

As was the case last year, the ceremonies went virtual. Royal Canadian Legion Branch 70 streamed its Remembrance Day ceremonies on YouTube live. The stream can be found at https://youtu.be/anbS8SNnt6E .

Branch 70 took part in a number of activities prior to Nov. 11 to commemorate the efforts of those who served in Canada's military. On Nov. 5 they raised the flag commemorating Veterans Week at City Hall. As well, they participated in the Honour Our Veteran Banner Program for 2021, with banners hung on the 1100, 1200 and 1300 blocks of 100th Street.

In Battleford, Branch 9 also did not hold a community Remembrance Day gathering this year, but did hold a more modest ceremony at their Legion Hall. Among the guests was Battlefords-Lloydminster MP Rosemarie Falk.

Branch 9 plans to upload a stream of its ceremony onto their Facebook page.
