The Liberals have gotten off to a fast start based on early results out of Atlantic Canada.
The Atlantic results had the Liberals leading or elected in 32 of the 32 ridings, with the Conservatives and even the New Democrats losing seats.
Latest returns now have the Liberals at 42, Conservative 6 and NDP 1.
Some results started to come in after the 7:30 p.m. poll closure in Saskatchewan. Early results out of Carlton Trail-Eagle Creek showed Conservative incumbent Kelly Block well ahead with 1,021 votes to 200 for Glenn Wright of the NDP, while in Regina-Qu’Appelle the incumbent speaker Andrew Scheer was also leading with 434 votes compared to 119 for Nial Kuyek of the NDP.
