The Saskatchewan Liberals are getting on with life without former party leader Ryan Bater.

They held their first strategy meeting in February and plan another in Regina this month on the heels of the resignation of the Battlefords-based Bater Jan. 31.

The first meeting, entitled Charting the Future, was held Feb. 11 in Saskatoon, and focused on strategies and next steps for the Liberals in Saskatchewan. In a news release issued two days later, the party stated those plans include running a full slate in the next election.

On the heels of that February meeting the Liberals are planning another meeting in Regina in March.

The party has yet to appoint an interim leader but an appointment is still expected in the coming weeks. The party president's position is also vacant at the moment.

Despite receiving less than one per cent of the vote in the Nov. 7 provincial election the Liberals expressed a mood of confidence and insist they are "down but not out."

"Despite the results of the last election, our membership is upbeat about the future," said party vice-president Trent Evanisky in a statement Feb. 13.

"Our members are ready and excited to contribute to the political process of our province."
