The full list of candidates is now set for the Mosquito First Nation band election in April.
Nomination day on the reserve was March 5 and a total of five candidates were nominated for chief. Also, a large number of candidates are in the race for band council positions.
The candidates for chief are Robert Armstrong, Anderson Moosomin, Alvin Kenny Mosquito, Daniel Starchief and Clarence Stone.
Stone was the longtime former chief on the reserve before serving a conditional sentence for theft in the wide-ranging Treaty Land Entitlement fraud case last year.
In addition, a total of 36 candidates are running for five band council positions. Ballots are to be counted April 17.
