Information about STARS was related to the board of North Saskatchewan River Municipal Health Holdings at their meeting June 17.

The physicians and executive attended meetings with STARS personnel who provided presentations on the STARS program as well as fundraising efforts for their operational funding. There will be STARS calendars available for sale in communities served by Health Holdings. Board members urge the public to support the service that they say has become an invaluable resource to rural physicians.

Health holdings and Prairie North Health Region have secured locum physicians to cover for those who are on holidays. Dr. Sabir will be providing clinic and on call service until Aug. 1. Dr. Loftus will work July 8 to 14 and Dr. Barnett will cover the week of July 22. SMA locum physicians also assist periodically.

Carla Olson has been hired for a casual position with Health Holdings clinics.

The next meeting of the board will be July 15 in the RM of Mervin office in Turtleford.
