Between t a.m. Friday, Jan. 24 and 6 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, Battlefords RCMP responded to approximately 30 calls for service/occurrences, including one alarm.
Friday
6:39 a.m. - Report of man refusing to pay cab fare on 104th Street. When members attended, the man managed to find the money after all.
10:20 a.m. - Report of a break and enter to a residence from several days ago. Complainant reports they know who did it but don't want the subject charged anyway.
12:45 p.m. - Report of shoplifting from a business on 101st Street. Female suspect not located.
1:30 p.m. - Vehicle parked on 110th Street overnight had items stolen from it.
2:08 p.m. - Complainant reporting former roommate stole personal items from them on 103rd Street.
3:43 p.m. - 27-year-old man arrested on 101st Street after report of intoxicated man sleeping near a building. Facing charges under Liquor Act.
4:15 p.m. - Call of a vehicle on 16 Bypass on the shoulder with people outside the vehicle and complainant reporting, "The RCMP will be picking bodies up off the highway soon." Members attended and found no vehicles parked on shoulder of highway and no bodies on or near the highway to pick up.
4:58 p.m. - Report of unknown, intoxicated man kicking the front door of a building on 103rd Street. 26-year-old man located man near building arrested for public intoxication and charged under the Liquor Act.
5:33 p.m. - Caller called 911 because he was having his vehicle inspection done and now the people doing the inspection won't give him his paperwork back. There is really nothing else to say about this complaint.
9:00 p.m. - Report of an assault from earlier this afternoon on Panton Avenue. No injuries reported. Investigation ongoing. Subjects involved known to each other.
11:10 p.m. - 27-year-old woman arrested on 101st street and facing charges of failing to comply with probation, in violation of no alcohol clause.
11:40 p.m. - 22-year-old man arrested on 101st Street, witnessed by members in possession of a machete and attempting to assault another man. The victim in this matter was not injured in the attack. Man is remanded into custody to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court Monday on charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
Saturday
12:06 a.m. - 911 call of a disturbance at a residence on 106th Street. 16-year-old arrested on scene for breach of the peace.
3:20 a.m. - Complaint of loud unwanted people on Borden Crescent. Members dispatched and suspects vacated area when warned.
4:29 a.m. - Couple of noise complaints on 112th Street of loud music. Warned.
4:49 a.m. - Report of an assault on 11th Avenue earlier in evening. Minor injuries, no medical attention needed. Perpetrator known to victim. Investigation ongoing.
5:09 a.m. - 911 call of an assault in progress at a residence on 111th Street. Suspect gone when police attended. Perpetrator known to victim. Investigation ongoing.
