A guilty plea and a sentence have been handed down regarding thefts from the account of the Maidstone Arena Board.

Lori Wood, 40, appeared in Lloydminster court Feb. 28. According to the RCMP, Wood pled guilty to one count of theft under $5,000 and received a suspended sentence, six months probation and was ordered to pay restitution of $2,902.40 to the Maidstone Arena Board.

Wood had been charged last April with several counts of theft in relation to cheques written against the Maidstone Arena Board account. The guilty plea was a result of a joint submission between the Crown prosecutor and defence counsel, both of whom recommended the suspended sentence and probation.
