Maidstone motor theft suspect convicted in Ontario

A man responsible for stealing a motor vehicle from Maidstone has been convicted and sentenced in Ontario.

A man responsible for stealing a motor vehicle from Maidstone has been convicted and sentenced in Ontario.

On March 5, Ontario Provincial Police contacted Maidstone RCMP to let them know that Justin Joseph Chaisson of North Battleford, SK, has pled guilty to numerous chargesand was sentenced to an additional eight months of incarceration in Ontario. The sentence includes a two year driving prohibition and he was ordered to provide DNA for the national database.

The sentence resulted after Chaisson was involved in a vehicle pursuit with OPP near the town of Marathon, Ontario, using a stolen vehicle from Maidstone, Saskatchewan.

Chaisson has been in custody since January 25 of this year, and police say he will face additional charges on returning to Saskatchewan.
