Man arrested by N.B. RCMP gang unit seeks bail

Jordan Pritchett was arrested April 23 after the RCMP gang unit located a stolen vehicle in the 1600 block of 102 Street North in North Battleford

NORTH BATTLEFORD – A man arrested by the Battlefords RCMP Gang Task Force and charged with drug trafficking and five weapons offences is seeking bail.

Defence Andrew Lyster asked the court Wednesday to order a bail verification report for 26-year-old Jordan Pritchett. The report will look into electronic monitoring and release to a residence in Battleford.

Judge Daniel O’Hanlon adjourned the matter to May 2 for a show cause hearing.

Pritchett was arrested April 23 after the RCMP gang unit located a stolen vehicle in the 1600 block of 102 Street North in North Battleford. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of weapons, methamphetamine and other evidence indicative of drug trafficking, say police. The 2010 Toyota Camry was reported stolen on March 2 from the 1100 block of 102nd Street in North Battleford.

Pritchett was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a weapon contrary to an order, possession of property over $5,000 obtained by crime, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

The charges against Pritchett haven’t been proven in court.
