Man arrested in NB B and E

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a break and enter and robbery in North Battleford. Tyler Dayne Meetoos was arrested Oct. 17. He was remanded in custody and appeared in court Friday morning.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a break and enter and robbery in North Battleford.

Tyler Dayne Meetoos was arrested Oct. 17. He was remanded in custody and appeared in court Friday morning.

Meetoos remains in custody and was to appear again Tuesday morning, at 11 a.m. by video conference in North Battleford provincial court.

North Battleford Municipal RCMP responded to a complaint t 5:50 p.m. of a residence being broken into. When police arrived they were advised a man had entered the residence and had demanded cash and valuables from the owner. Police say the suspect then fled the scene in the homeowners' vehicle.

A few minutes later, police located the suspect operating the vehicle and attempting to evade police, with a short pursuit ensuing. According to RCMP, the driver lost control and wound up stuck in a ditch. RCMP say after a short struggle the suspect, Meetoos, was taken into custody.

Meetoos now faces several charges including break, enter and robbery, robbery, assault, choking to overcome resistance, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, forcible confinement, theft, theft of a motor vehicle, flight from police, dangerous driving and resisting arrest.
