According to the RCMP, the Battlefords Municipal Detachment, Battlefords Rural detachment and the Forensic Identification unit responded to a 911 call at the 500 block of 100th Street in North Battleford.

A caller reported a man in a vehicle had pointed a gun at him, uttered threats to him, and shot at him twice, police say.

Thompson faces five charges - uttering a threat, possession of a weapon, pointing a firearm, failure to comply with a probation order and discharging a pistol with intent to wound.

He appeared in North Battleford provincial court Monday and was remanded in custody for a bail hearing scheduled for Tuesday. The Crown is opposed Thompson's release.

RCMP says the investigation continues.
