Man charged for bringing firearm into Hudson Bay Court

A man has been charged after he allegedly brought a firearm into Hudson Bay Provincial Court. An officer of the Hudson Bay RCMP was alerted Jan. 23 and Donald Cory Schulz was arrested when he left the court building without incident.

A man has been charged after he allegedly brought a firearm into Hudson Bay Provincial Court.

An officer of the Hudson Bay RCMP was alerted Jan. 23 and Donald Cory Schulz was arrested when he left the court building without incident. He wasat court to make an appearance on an unrelated matter and not in police custody at the time.

Hudson Bay RCMP located a loaded handgun and a loaded magazine outside the Provincial Court building during a subsequent search of the immediate area. No one reported any injuries to police.

Schulz is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a weapon while attending a public meeting, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a prohibited firearm.

He appeared in Nipawin Provincial Court Jan. 24. His next appearance will be in Melfort Provincial Court Feb. 1.
