A 23-year-old Meadow Lake Man is facing charges after an RCMP raid on a home in that city Feb. 6.
Charged was Reechmond Santos Benedicto, 23 is charged with possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography and will make a first court appearance in Meadow Lake Monday, March 11.
Members from the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit along with the Meadow Lake RCMP, executed a search warrant on the residence. RCMP say, the search warrant was granted after investigators were able to download numerous child pornography files from a computer in the residence.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
