Man facing assault with a weapon charges

Battlefords RCMP responded to about 40 incidents between 6 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22.

Monday, Nov. 21

8:40 a.m. - Break and enter to a business on the Moosomin First Nation overnight. Computers among items reported stolen.

5:14 p.m. - Report of a disturbance involving two men on the 1000 block of 109th Street in North Battleford. All parties were gone prior to police arrival but have since been identified. Both have accused the other of assault. Matter remains under investigation and charges are pending.

6:18 p.m. – Two-vehicle collision at intersection of 100th Street and 11th Avenue. One vehicle sustained significant damage and had to be towed from scene and there were some traffic disruptions for a brief period. 

11:24 p.m. - 911 call to a residence on the Moosomin First Nation of an assault in progress. A 34-year-old man was arrested on scene and is facing charges of assault with a weapon. Matter remains under investigation and additional charges may be forthcoming.

Tuesday, Nov. 22

12:44 a.m. – 44-year-old man arrested and facing two charges of assault and a charge of uttering threats after a reported disturbance at a residence on the 1100 block of 104th Street in North Battleford. 

2:23 a.m. – 27-year-old man arrested after a reported break and enter on 97th Drive in North Battleford. Accused facing charges of break and enter and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

3:02 a.m. - Reported of suspicious persons on Maher Drive in North Battleford. Damage later found to two fences of other residences. Perpetrator(s) not located.

4:47 a.m. - Report of a vehicle broken into while parked on the 1600 block of 101st Street. Window smashed out to gain entry.

Police responded to eight minor disturbances, 10 traffic matters, one false/nuisance 911 call, one child welfare complaint, two alarms, two harassment complaints and two minor collisions.
