NIPAWIN — A man was found dead on what police called "the driving portion" of Highway #55 two kilometres east of Nipawin.
Nipawin RCMP were alerted on Sept. 13 at 4:15 am. When ambulance and RCMP members arrived, the man was determined to be deceased at the scene.
Traffic in both directions is being re-routed away from the accident site. Motorists are asked to consider other routes.
The investigation is still underway to determine the cause and circumstances that lead to the death of the man. A collision reconstructionist is currently on scene and the road will remain closed for next three hours. The deceased has been sent for a forensic autopsy in Saskatoon.
