Man spotted rifling through mailboxes

Battlefords RCMP responded to approximately 22 calls for service between 6 a.m. Tuesday, March 10 and 6 a.m. Wednesday, March 11.

Officers arrested one individual for an alcohol related offence, there were four disturbances reported, one Mental Health Act complaint, four traffic complaints, two nuisance 911 calls, one false alarm and one person reported missing who was located.

Tuesday

• At 4:05 p.m. there was a complaint of an intoxicated man walking down the center of 11th Avenue near 107th Street. Officers located the individual, who was intoxicated and had injuries. He was arrested without incident and taken to the. The 28-year-old was on an undertaking with conditions to abstain from alcohol. He was charged with failing to comply with that condition and for carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was held for court the following morning.

• A North Battleford resident called to report around 6:00 p.m. that they had received a call from someone claiming to be an employee of a computer company and told them that he wanted to help with a computer-related issue. The complainant did not provide any personal information or credit card numbers and he was referred to www.phonebusters.com or 1-888-495-8501 to report the incident to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.

• At 6:33 p.m. there was a complaint from someone stating that there was an intoxicated adult woman in his home that was causing problems and he wanted assistance. Officers attended the residence and arrested the female to prevent further incidents.

• A business on the Highway 16 bypass reported a theft at 8:56 p.m. The suspect left in a black two-door Ford truck, heading south on the bypass toward Battleford. The investigation is ongoing.

• There was a report of a man going through mailboxes on Bowers Drive just before midnight. Officers made patrols and he was not located. The man was described as being 55-60 years old, First Nation, with a moustache, and wearing a reflective vest.

Wednesday

• There was an altercation between three individuals at a residence on the 1100 block of 107 Street that was reported at 12:32 a.m. The three people involved were separated for the night and the investigation of the incident is ongoing.

• At 1:26 a.m. there was a report of an intoxicated man ringing the doorbell of a residence on the 900 block of 105 Street. Officers located the man at that address and he was arrested and held in cells until he was sober to prevent any further issues.
