March is National Nutrition Month in Canada, and the Prairie North Health Region is celebrating it with a full slate of events throughout the Battlefords.

The health region is setting up a booth at Territorial Mall every Saturday morning in March from 10 a.m. to noon that will be staffed with dieticians.

A new service is also being launched as part of Nutrition Month, and will remain available to Saskatchewan residents until April 27. The Ask a Dietitian service connects residents to a local dietitian live by phone (1-800-905-0970) or email (askadietitian.sk@gmail.com). Anyone interested can also follow on Facebook (under www.facebook.com/Askadietitiansk) or Twitter (@askadietitiansk). Every week, a myth, truth, and challenge will be posted on the Facebook page.

Each of the five weeks in March has a theme. March 3-9 is Eat More, Weigh Less, March 10-16 is Cook Once Eat Twice: A New Way to Cook and Save Time, March 17-23 is Vegetables and Fruit: The Sidekicks for Good Health, March 24-30 is Multi-grain vs. Whole Grain - What's the Difference and March 31 to April 6 is Water, Essential for Life, but How Much do I Really Need.
