Meadow Lake RCMP investigate shooting at a residence

On Oct. 19, 2019, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Meadow Lake RCMP responded to the report of a firearm being discharged once at a residence on the 600 block of Sergent Avenue in Meadow Lake.

On Oct. 19, 2019, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Meadow Lake RCMP responded to the report of a firearm being discharged once at a residence on the 600 block of Sergent Avenue in Meadow Lake.  

Upon arrival, Meadow Lake RCMP located six people who were inside the residence at the time of the shooting. None of the occupants of the residence were injured.  

Preliminary investigation revealed that a single shot from a high caliber firearm was fired at the residence.

A light tan, possibly white-coloured SUV is believed to have been involved with the incident. The SUV was seen driving east toward Sergent Avenue before turning north on the corner of 6th Street East.

It is unknown whether the firearm was discharged at the residence on Sergent Avenue from the vehicle or from an individual on foot.

Meadow Lake RCMP are asking anyone who was in the area of the 600 block of Sergent Avenue of Meadow Lake between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, for any information which could help identify the SUV or its occupant(s).

Meadow Lake RCMP continue to work diligently to locate and arrest the individual(s) responsible for the incident.

At this time, police believe there is no threat to public safety related to this incident and would like to remind residents of Meadow Lake of the importance of reporting any suspicious activity to police.
