MELFORT — The Mustangs have acquired 1999 forward Chase Anderson in a three team trade.

“We’re really excited to add Anderson to the Mustangs this year. He’s a big 1999 forward and will be a difference maker in our lineup,” said Trevor Blevins, the Mustangs’ head coach. “Anderson is a player we’ve been scouting for years. It’s a great addition and we’re glad to have him.”

The trade involved the Sherwood Park Crusaders and Notre Dame Hounds.  Sherwood Park sent Anderson along with a player development fee to Notre Dame in exchange for 1998 defenseman Riley Perka. Anderson was then sent from Notre Dame to Melfort for a player development fee.

Originally from Lloydminster, Anderson will be entering his second full season of junior hockey. After spending all of last season with the Sherwood Park Crusaders, he scored one goal and added two assists in 29 games. He finished his Midget Hockey Career with the Lloydminster AAA Midget Bobcats in the 2016-17 season. In 34 games he scored 13 goals and 16 assists for 29 points.
