MELFORT — Melfort has unveiled its plan to reopen its indoor facilities.

“The City of Melfort is making plans based on the current guidelines with the understanding that all decisions are subject to change,” said Brent Lutz, the city’s director of communications.

The Melfort and District Museum is now open for modified self-guided tours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Large groups should call ahead to book.

Plans are underway to have the Northern Lights Palace Arena prepared so that it can open for user groups on Aug 17, in time to accommodate hockey schools and the Melfort Mustangs training camp.

Sept. 1 will see the reopening of the Kerry Vickar Centre and the Historic Post Office. To follow provincial health orders, meetings are restricted to no more than 30 people and the theatre can accommodate 30 per cent of its capacity, up to a maximum of 150. Bookings are now being accepted for events planned for September and beyond.

The campground continues to operate as accommodation for essential workers only.
