MELFORT — Melfort’s Northern Lights Pool has reopened by online bookings, but is asking patrons to only book one session per week for the next three weeks so that everyone has a chance to use the facility.
Leonard Whitney, Melfort’s facility manager, said that the progressive reopening allows the guards to get comfortable guarding again, while at the same time allowing the pool to be used by the public.
Each swimmer must register online www.melfort.ca for the swim they want to attend. Children count as separate registrations in order to keep numbers accurate.
When registering, if the swim doesn’t show in the registration area it’s because it reached the capacity limit.
No walk-ins will be allowed, with only registered swimmers being admitted.
Once registered, all swimmers must enter through the south lobby doors and go through a COVID-19 screening before entering the facility.
The doors will be open 15 minutes before the swim, and locked once it starts. Swimmers are expected to leave within 15 minutes of their swim time being completed.
Masks are mandatory in the facility when not in the water.
