Methamphetamine and morphine discovered in Melfort home

Quantities of methamphetamine and morphine, as well as an illegal firearm, were discovered in Melfort after a short investigation by the Prince Albert Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit and the Melfort RCMP.

Quantities of methamphetamine and morphine, as well as an illegal firearm, were discovered in Melfort after a short investigation by the Prince Albert Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit and the Melfort RCMP.

That investigation led to the arrest of an man operating a vehicle at 3:50 a.m. on May 4. Then investigators seeked judicial authorizations to search a residence in the 100 Block of Millburn Street, where police forces found the contraband.

Mario Benincasa of Prince Albert was charged with possession of methamphetamine. Robert Sauter of Melfort was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of morphine for the purpose of trafficking, four offences related to the unlawful possession and storage of a firearm and two charges related to failing to comply with undertaking conditions.

RCMP have not released a court date for the two men.
