One of two accused of second-degree murder stemming from an incident at Moosomin First Nation will return to court later this month in North Battleford.

Taryn Cote appeared Wednesday morning in provincial court. He has been remanded by consent to the next court date June 23.

Both Cote and Troy Swiftwolfe were arrested in February, but were released from custody on several conditions.

However, it was learned last month that Cote was back in custody and facing new charges in Saskatoon. Those include obstruction, breach of undertaking, possession of stolen property and arson.

Cote's next appearance is slated to be by closed-circuit TV in North Battleford court. His co-accused in the second-degree murder case, Swiftwolfe, is also scheduled to appear on that day in provincial court. Swiftwolfe remains free, on conditions.
