There were more adjournments in a case against a Saskatoon man charged with possessing and distributing child pornography.
John P. Malsi, 22, had an appearance scheduled in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Oct. 26 to elect how he wants to be tried and the matter was adjourned to Nov. 9.
Malsi is charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and one count of distributing child pornography.
The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at his home in Saskatoon June 18. Police say they found child porn and seized two mobile phones for further forensic analysis. According to police, Malsi allegedly distributed child porn through a popular social media platform.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is made up of investigators from the RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service. They investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
