TISDALE — Starting next week, curbside recycling in Tisdale will be collected every two weeks instead of every month.

“Every week, you’re going to have a garbage pickup day and every second week, your recycle bin will get picked up,” said Brad Hvidston, the town’s administrator.

For recycling, the town is divided into four zones. The area between 110th Avenue and 103rd Avenue will see their first recycling pickup Tuesday July 31, with future pickup on Tuesdays every two weeks after that. The area north of 110th Avenue will be the next to see pickup, on Wednesday Aug. 1. The area south of the railway tracks that run through downtown will have their first pickup Tuesday Aug. 7 and the area between the tracks and 103rd Avenue will have their first pickup Wednesday Aug. 8.

“Once they got on to which week their recycle is, I think it’s going to be fairly simple. It’s just a matter of getting that first week figured out and from there, it should go pretty smooth,” Hvidston said. “Hopefully we’ll see more recycling out of it.”

For garbage, the town is divided into three zones. The area north of 110th Avenue will have weekly pickup on Tuesdays, the area between 110th Avenue and 103rd Avenue will have weekly pickup on Wednesdays, and the area south of 103rd Avenue will have weekly pickup on Fridays.
