North Battleford RCMP responded to approximately 50 calls for service between 6 a.m. Thursday, July 23 and 6 a.m. Friday, July 24.
Thursday
• Officers assisted WPD Ambulance with an intoxicated woman who had allegedly been hit by a car around 7 a.m. When she was sober, the woman decided that it was more likely that she had fallen down next to a car and had made drunken assumptions.
• There was vandalism reported to a fence on the 900 block of 106th Street that had occurred sometime the day previous.
• At 12:25 p.m. there was a complaint that someone had just hit their fence with a vehicle. Witnesses saw the vehicle was being driven erratically on the wrong side of the road and it was located. The incident is still being investigated.
• Officers gave a warning to a motorcyclist who was driving erratically on Highway 16, after there was a complaint about his driving at 1:18 p.m.
• Staff at a business on Territorial Drive caught a shoplifter around 5 p.m. and an intoxicated 18-year-old man was arrested. He gave officers a false name, but they discovered his real name and found out that he was on an undertaking with conditions not to consume alcohol. The man was charged with theft, obstruction, and failing to comply with his undertaking. He was released when he was sober and has a court appearance scheduled for Aug. 31.
• Officers received a call from a woman at 6:51 p.m. reporting ongoing domestic assault in her relationship. A 49-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault and was released from custody with a scheduled domestic violence court date.
• Around 8 p.m. there was a complaint about a vehicle driving dangerously on Highway 4 south. Officers located the vehicle as described, and the driver, a 27-year-old man, was charged with impaired driving. There were two passengers in the vehicle. One was arrested for public intoxication and the other was unconscious and was taken to the hospital by WPD Ambulance.
• There was a complaint of an intoxicated man at a residence on 7th Street in Cando who was causing problems around 11 p.m. Officers arrested a 33-year-old man at the home and charged him with breaching a condition of his undertaking, which was to abstain from consuming alcohol. He was held in custody until he was sober.
Friday
• There was a report of a break and enter to a residence on Saulteaux First Nation at 4:19 a.m. A 21-year-old man is being charged with breaking and entering and with mischief in relation to the incident.
There were also two people arrested for alcohol related offences, nine disturbances reported, one traffic complaint, four nuisance 911 calls and two missing people who have already been located.
