Motorists brandish pellet gun

Between 6 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 6 and 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7, North Battleford RCMP received approximately 45 calls for service.

Sunday, Sept. 6

• There was a report of a damaged light post that had been hit by a vehicle on Territorial Drive around 7:30 a.m. The vehicle that hit the light post did not remain in the area or report the incident. It is still being investigated.

• A vehicle on Gardiner Drive was vandalized during the previous night.

• The windshield of a vehicle was smashed overnight on 101st Crescent.

• Officers attended a residence on St. Laurent Drive after a 911 call from the home at 11:36 a.m. A 28-year-old man was intoxicated and being violent with people in the residence and he was arrested and held in custody until he was sober to prevent any issues.

• There was an incident reported at a residence on the 1800 block of 101st Street involving bear mace at 2:37 p.m. The incident is still being investigated.

• Someone reported that a truck that was parked on the side of the road on 19th Avenue was side-swiped and damaged by another vehicle during the previous night.

• There was a report that the passenger of a passing vehicle pointed a gun at a pedestrian on the street on 109th Street around 4:15 p.m.  The occupants of the vehicle were arrested and a 35-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were charged with pointing a firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The gun was discovered to be a pellet gun. The woman that was charged and the pedestrian were known to one another. The male occupant of the vehicle was also charged with driving while disqualified.

• A theft was reported at a business on Carlton Trail at 5:16 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 7

• A cell phone was reported stolen out of a parked car on Battleford Road overnight.

• There was a report of a smashed vehicle windshield on the 1800 block of 100th Street that happened sometime over the weekend.

In addition, there was one person arrested for an alcohol-related offence, nine disturbances reported, one traffic complaint, two collisions reported, one nuisance 911 call and three false alarms.
