The man accused of second-degree murder in the Sept. 30 homicide at the Travelodge in North Battleford will see his case return to court Dec. 10.
Nicholas Giroux appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court by closed circuit television from cells in Saskatoon.
The case was adjourned to allow Giroux' new counsel to assume the file. Defence lawyer Mervyn Shaw of Moose Jaw has been retained by Giroux. Shaw is expected to appear at the Dec. 10 appearance.
This was the first appearance for Giroux in North Battleford provincial court. During the first few days after his arrest Giroux had appeared in court in Saskatoon. He remains in custody.
