The Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery is looking for the public's help in acquiring vintage photographs of certain historic buildings here in town.

As part of an ongoing project to install commemorative plaques at 14 buildings in the downtown core, the museum is looking for photos from various points in the history of these buildings. These 14 buildings will form part of a historic walking tour that will be offered by the museum beginning in July.

Anyone who has such photos is encouraged to bring them to the museum, at the corner of Main Street and 6th Avenue in Humboldt. If necessary, copies of the original photos can be made. The buildings/businesses where photos are needed are as follows: (any photos needed for a certain time period are indicated in brackets and the building's current tenant is identified)

1. Between the Pages (photos needed for when building was occupied by Humboldt Paint & Glass and Wheatland Bakery)
2. Cutting Edge Floor Covering (photo needed for when building was occupied by JayDee's Men's Wear and Video Quest Movie Gallery)
3. Graphic Arts Printing (photo needed for when building was occupied by the Humboldt Bakery)
4. Rath Plumbing and Heating (photos needed for when building was a billiards room and poker den, Hagerty Agencies and Graphic Ad)
5. Yuen's Family Clothing and Cellular Centre (photos needed from Barney's Groceries)

Anyone with a story to tell about these buildings and their history is also encouraged to contact the Journal at 306-682-2561 or email us at [email protected].
