The North West Mutual Aid Area now has a mobile command centre thanks to the RM of Frenchman Butte No. 501 and Walter Gobert, co-ordinator, for all the work in setting it up.
This trailer will be available for use in the case of any type of disaster or incident that may happen in the mutual aid area. This mutual aid area consists of RM Of Turtle River, Edam. Mervin, Turtleford, RM of Mervin No. 499, Bright Sand Regional Park, St Walburg, Paradise Hill and RM of Frenchman Butte No. 501.
This trailer has been a long time in coming, but now it is a reality. This is a toy hauler converted for the purpose. It has a solar panel hooked up to keep the VHF radios charged and a cell phone booster so that we can be reasonably assured to have some communication.
This trailer can be used as a mobile office and headquarters in the case of a disaster in remote areas of the municipalities or in the case of the town/villages losing their command centres due to a tornado or other event.
