Name sought for curling club

The new curling club that will be making their home at the Credit Union CUPlex is looking for a new name.

The new curling club that will be making their home at the Credit Union CUPlex is looking for a new name.

The new curling club, which will be a single entity drawing on members of the soon-to-be-dissolved Battleford and Granite curling clubs, is now taking suggestions on what the new name for the club should be.

Following a meeting of the new board for the new entity it was decided to get input from curlers and previous members from the two local curling clubs in making the decision.

The name being sought is for the curling club, not the building itself. The building is going to be called the Northland Power Curling Centre.

The opportunity to name the building is open to previous shareholders and Members of the Battleford Curling Club and the North Battleford Granite Curling club. Those who are not members but are interested in what it should be called may also participate.

Participants are being urged to be as creative or original as they would like. Suggestions are being accepted until May 1 2012 and ballots are being handed out at curling club events leading up to the deadline.

Entries can be submitted by emailing manager@battlefordscurling.com, by fax at 937 2019, or by contacting Trish Johnson at 937-3447.
