Nasty weather no deterrent to mayhem makers

The weather was inhospitable for mayhem makers, but Battlefords RCMP were still called to more than 25 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 16 and 6 a.m. Thursday, April 17.

The weather was inhospitable for mayhem makers, but Battlefords RCMP were still called to more than 25 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 16 and 6 a.m. Thursday, April 17.

Among those calls were two false alarms, three false/nuisance 911 calls, one noise complaint and two traffic-related occurrences.

Thursday

7:36 a.m. - Two complaints about an hour apart, one from 18th Avenue and the other on 91st Street of fresh tracks in the snow which appear to indicate someone checking out vehicles. No entry gained or attempts appear to have been made. No suspect identified.

10:19 a.m. - Report of several people drinking in an abandoned building on 102nd Street. Subjects already gone upon arrival. Three suspects located a short distance away and warned.

12:42 p.m. - Report of intoxicated man on Railway Avenue East asking for cigarettes and threatening people. Subject not located, no further reports received.

1:12 p.m. - 45-year-old man arrested for public intoxication on 103rd Street.

1:48 p.m. - Residential break and enter on 1700 block of 102nd Street sometime overnight.

2:36 p.m. - Unwanted intoxicated person at a residence on 108th Street. Subject escorted to the address of a sober relative.

3:32 p.m. - Report of an assault at a residence on 108th Street. Suspect identified and known to victim, remains at large at this point.

7:15 p.m. - A 23-year-old man from Turtleford is facing charges of assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats and a 31-year-old man from North Battleford is facing charges of assault with a weapon, forcible confinement and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose after the subjects are alleged to have attended a residence on 99th Street to collect money owed. The victim was able toeventually leavethe residence and call police from a nearby business and was not injured in the altercation. Both subjects were gone from the residence when police attended and were located a short time later at another residence in the city. Both men remain in custody and will be appearing in North Battleford Provincial Court on Thursday, April 17.

9:21 p.m. - 13-year-old reported missing from a youth group home. Located a short time later at a residence in city and returned.

9:26 p.m. - 24-year-old woman arrested for Public Intoxication found walking down the middle of the street on 11th Avenue.

Thursday

1:24 a.m. - Report of a hit and run at Frontier Mall Parking Lot. Pedestrian reported to have been hit by a vehicle that left scene. No serious injuries. Suspect known to victim. Investigation ongoing.

2:56 a.m. - 911 call to a residence on 107th Street for unspecified reason. 51-year-old woman found on scene, very intoxicated, had called 911 for no apparent reason and was causing problems at the home for the other residents. Subject arrested and held in custody until sober.

3:23 a.m. - 43-year-old man arrested and facing two counts of failing to comply with a probation order after a complaint of subject attending a residence on 98th Street while being on conditions not to have contact with complainant.
