A North Battleford man accused of breaking into a home in Stanley Mission and assaulting the resident was denied bail in La Ronge Provincial Court Nov. 26.
Brandon Holmes, 27, was arrested in October. Police say they found him hiding in a cabin a few kilomotres from Stanley Mission after stealing a boat to flee the area.
According to police, they got a call at about 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 5 that an armed man was in a residence. They searched the home but the suspect had fled. They identified the suspect as Holmes from North Battleford.
Several hours later, at about 2:30 p.m., the RCMP located Holmes at a cabin and arrested him without incident. He was charged with two counts of break and enter, assault, discharging a firearm with intent, and carrying a concealed weapon.
Holmes is scheduled to appear next in La Ronge Provincial Court on Dec. 21 to elect how he wants to be tried.
