NB SARCAN earns two awards

North Battleford SARCAN depot has earned two customer service awards announced at the Recycling Depot supervisor training event held in early March.

Each year, by way of a "secret shopper program", all depots across the province are visited and rated on the categories of customer service, accuracy and cleanliness.

The North Battleford depot earned recognition in the extra-large depot category in both customer service, based on 10 factors of customer service, and cleanliness, also based on 10 factors.

Other customer service winners were: small depot - Beechy; medium depot - Turtleford; large depot - Melfort.

Other depots earning cleanliness awards were: small depot - Ituna; medium depot -Rosetown; large depot - Fort Qu'Appelle.

Extra-Large Depot - North Battleford

Accuracy awards, based on accuracy of count and payment, were earned by: small depot - Wilkie; medium depot - Shaunavon; large depot - Fort Qu'Appelle; extra-large depot - Saskatoon East (Sutherland)

"SARCAN is real work for real wages and employs people of all abilities; the majority of our employees are either persons with disabilities or those who were formerly on social assistance," states communications officer Sydney Smith.

SARCAN employees earn competitive wages, full benefits, and a pension plan.

"Supervisors were presented with a plaque to be proudly displayed in their depots. We are very pleased to present these awards and take great pride in continual improvement of recycling services to the people of Saskatchewan," Smith says.
