New 4-H club rockets into action

A name has been chosen for a new Hafford multiple 4-H club organized this fall. The name, Rockin' H Multiple 4-H Club, was chosen by the members and parents at the first general meeting.

A name has been chosen for a new Hafford multiple 4-H club organized this fall.

The name, Rockin' H Multiple 4-H Club, was chosen by the members and parents at the first general meeting. The H represents Hafford as well as Head, Heart, Hands and Health.

At the orientation/general meeting the new club held elections. Voted into the elected positions were: president - Codie Yasieniuk, vice-president - Rayna Yasieniuk, secretary - Keanna Striga, treasurer- Cabri Tanchuk and reporters - Alicia Rice and Kendra Lafreniere. General leader is Darcy Yasieniuk and the assistant general leader is Aimie Svendsen

The club has 12 projects. Darcy Yasieniuk is the photography, genealogy and small pets leader. In charge of archery are Brian Yasieniuk and Gordie Moore. Riley Yasieniuk is also the junior leader forthe archery.Sylvia Ruedger is in charge of crafts and sewing. Tanya Dubyk has volunteered for fitness along with light horse Clover Bud. Audrey Fendelet is the leader of cooking. Aimie Svendsen will be leading rodeo and light horse Units 1 and 2. Tracy Rice in4-H 4-U Self Determinedisleading geocaching.

Tara Dishko is taking photography and Codie Yasieniuk is taking fitness andgenealogy. In small pets, there are Alicia Rice with her cat Alex, Bryan Toews with his cat Neo, Madison Flath with her dog Ginger, Rayna Yasieniuk with her kitten Woosa and Hailey Prystupa with her rabbit Casey.

Entered in archery are Ty and Lane Dubyk, Kyle Striga, Bryan Toews, Lucas Lafreniere,and Baylie and Riley Yasieniuk. In crafts are Kendra Lafereniere and Rayna Yasieniuk. Sewing members are Michelle Beam and Hailey Prystupa. Rodeo and light horse members are Cabri Tanchuk and Keanna Svendsen Striga. The cooking members are Kara Halliwell, Kendra Lafreniere, Michelle Beam and Hailey Prystupa. Jessica Rice is in 4-H 4-U were she will be discovering the fun-filledsecrets of geocaching.

Due to the frosty weather Dec. 9, members had to cancel a tobogganing/ Christmas party. Instead it was decided that we would celebrate together at our next meeting Dec. 11 at the seniors' centre in Hafford. Members had a fun gift exchange, played games, drank hot chocolate and tasted the delicious cookies that the cooking members made for everyone!

The members express their appreciation to the Hafford Goldenaires Club for the use of their facility for the Christmas party and meetings.
