There is further good news to report on the building side in North Battleford.

On Monday at city council, councillors received a building plan for a commercial six-bay car wash and two-bay truck wash to be located at 2902- 99th St. in the city's north end.

The owner of the building is Northside Shine Ur Ride, Ltd. It will be located in the C-3 commercial zone and the size of the building is 12,202 square feet.

According to City building and licensing inspector Jerry Wintonyk, they are building on land they have purchased from the City, which used to be the Hunter's Trailer and Marine storage compound.

In addition to the building, 30 parking stalls are required and are approved on the plan.

The architect is RBM Architecture of North Battleford and Lyle V. Schell Construction Management has been retained as the contractor. The value of the project is estimated at $1.69 million.

Wintonyk told council construction has already started and it should be ready to go this spring.

The news of the north-end car wash plans follows on the heels of two other building plans presented to council in January: one is for a major Walmart expansion to accommodate a new grocery store addition, while the other is for the Battlefords and District Co-op gas bar and convenience store, to be built not far from that location.
