TISDALE — Shell will be opening a gas station in Tisdale where Robin’s Donuts is located.
The site used to be a Tempo gas station. The coffee shop will continue business as normal.
“It should increase the business at Robin’s Donuts,” said Kamanashis Deb, the CEO of the Tisdale Shell location, “because Shell is a big company and they are very famous for their good gas and their Air Miles programs.
“Right now Robin’s is doing okay, but not doing great, so after Shell is coming in that area, it should be on this location, and it will be better for Robin’s Donuts too.”
“It will create more jobs in the community,” Deb said. “Already we are asking for locals to apply for jobs.”
Deb is looking for four new employees at the moment, but they may be looking for more people next year.
“I like people to know that we’re here, working with the community and we’re not trampling anybody. We love the community and want them to get the best service from us. Also we need their help and support from the community and we want to work together to make a stronger Tisdale economy.”
They are also constructing a Spotless car wash at the location.
The gas station is expected to be opened mid-September.
“It was a long waited time, because it took more than a year to bring the Shell to this location. They had lots of rules and regulations we had to follow,” Deb said. “Finally it came all together.”
