Ernie and Lena Hoeppner of Hoeppner Insurance Services in Blaine Lake have officially sold their business to Lakeview Insurance Group of Companies.

Lakeview Insurance Brokers is a family owned and operated brokerage business.

The Winnipeg-based business has two rural branches in Manitoba and three in Saskatchewan: Saskatoon, Martensville and now Blaine Lake.

The company says there are many advantages to this transition including being able to provide more insurance company options for clients in home, farm and business insurance. This company also offers the largest church insurance program in Canada and specialty programs that are only available through a select few insurance brokers.

The management and staff team say they are excited to continue to offer a strong knowledge and history of insuring commercial and farm enterprises.

Ernie and Lena will remain part of the management team until branch manager Deborah Ostapowich has the opportunity to familiarize herself with the office, clients and staff.

A Christmas open house was held at Hoeppner Insurance Services in Blaine Lake Dec. 17 with an afternoon of seasonal festivities. Brad Funk brought his team of horses and equipment to provide wagon rides around town while children and adults braved the cold winter wind to participate in the wagon trek and carolling. Inside, visitors enjoyed a meal of chilli, hot beverages and desserts compliments of Hoeppner and Lakeview Insurance. Door prize winners were Michelle Singer, Pete Odnokon, Vivian Nemish, Nellie Fehr, Roland Fremont, Ruth Morton, Lucille Horner, Marj Pool, Allan Wishloff, Barb Woytiuk, Zoey Sherstobetoff, Trevor Perkins, Annette Pollard, Charlene Nordquist, Darcy Nordquist, and Austin Sherstobetoff.

SGI Canada representatives in attendance were Baron Hack, Supervisor of Commercial Property (north) and Darin Vanstone, Product representative 3 Commercial Property(north). Lakeview Insurance Brokers Limited co-partners Sid and Anthony Reimer and new Blaine Lake branch manager Deborah Ostapowich were also in attendance to introduce themselves to the community and its clients.

The business will continue to operate under the Hoeppner Insurance Services banner.
