A new physician, Dr. Mpomposhe, has begun practice in the North Saskatchewan River Municipal Health Holdings clinics.

At a Nov. 18 regular meeting, members of the NSRMHH board expressed their welcome to the new doctor. Her family will be arriving in the New Year from South Africa and the board encourages everyone to welcome them.

Dr. Tshatshela will be away the last week of Dec. 27 to Jan. 6 to attend a conference. The clinics will also be closed at noon on Dec. 24 and 31.

Prairie North Health Region has not received any applications to date for the vacant nurse practitioner position.

The new electronic medical record program, Med Access, has been operational for a month. The physicians are back to mostly 15-minute appointments and the staff is working hard to get the clinics running as smoothly as possible, according to a press release.

The primary care team is now offering shared medical appointments for diabetes in all three clinics.

The next regular meeting of the NSRMHH board will be Monday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the RM of Mervin office, Turtleford.
