Saskatchewan Health Authority CEO Scott Livingstone said two weeks ago the new Saskatchewan Hospital is 90 per cent complete, adding remaining work is in the finishing stages.
Construction companies are planning to turn the hospital over to the SHA in September or October, and occupancy will take place afterwards. Livingstone expects a move in before Christmas.
Exact dates have yet to be determined.
The $34.2 million to complete the project is allocated to SaskBuilds.
A total of $14.2 million, according to the 2018-19 provincial budget, is going toward operating and accommodations costs associated with the opening of the facility.
“I’m really excited about having a facility that’s built with a therapeutic mindset for both sides of the facility,” Livingstone said.
