The City of North Battleford has announced that a new pedestrian crossing signal at Territorial and Scott Drive is to be operational beginning Friday.

According to a City news release Wednesday morning, the new lights were running in yellow flash mode this week to bring attention to drivers of the new crossing system and its location.

The City says the system will remain in yellow flash mode until Friday when it becomes fully operational.

The system will allow pedestrians to cross Territorial Drive with the pedestrian signal flashing red lights to stop traffic.

In the meantime the City is urging that pedestrians use caution when using this crossing, as lights will remain in yellow flash mode until Friday and will not switch to a red light until then. The city also states that drivers should be vigilant to any pedestrians using this crossing.
